Okaaaayy Mark,
I'm not so sure I like the way you say "flash" in that last post.
And sptcoupe, I plan to just put it on the road right now, mods like LED's may come later.
I found that the air horns are willing to work and are making great tones. It appears that when they installed the AC in the past, they relocated the horns from ahead of the radiator core support to behind it in the engine compartment. Right ahead of the relocated alternator. Which meant that they had to slightly reposition the horns compressor, which meant they didn't fully fasten the compressor mount bracket to the frame. Which means insufficient ground to carry the load for the compressor to run the horns.
So I have started into the re-relocation of the alternator to put it back on the lower right side of the engine.
It really is fun to be able to go out and tinker with this car when you don't have any kind of schedule to worry about.
Soon to start in on the body repairs.

Re: Can we talk 124 Coupe?
Well one thing leads to another....
Speedometer was inoperable so in looking for the reason why I found the mechanism in the indicator was locked up. I was able to locate another speedo from another Fiat owner in Napa. Thanks Dave!
So, after cleaning up the speedo and installing it into the panel with the rest of the instruments, I noticed that it would now be necessary to remove and clean the rest of the indicators. Gaaaaaaah!
So, I did a complete removal of the instrument cluster. And hey, what the heck, why not repair the cracked dash too?
What's the term for this? Project creep?

Azruss should look that one up. I think that is a 3rd gen version of the sport coupe. The different grill, rear side windows and tail lights are the most obvious external differences.
While that looks like a nice car to pick up, it is beyond my means and I prefer looks of the one I have.
Thanks though.

That car is a "C" Coupe - the last of the three body styles the car was produced in. Much of it is the same as the "B" coupe, but there are quite a few differences as well - the dash being one of them.

love that ad;
good stuff; body and paint by an old pro
bad stuff; paint flaking.
I guess you can collect all of the paint flakes and have the old pro re-apply them

Re: Can we talk 124 Coupe?
I'm glad I found this thread! I picked up a '71 BC Coupe last week - but the body is pretty rotten. Interior looks better than that one, but it's mostly disassembled. I'm going to wind up gutting most of the interior on mine when it becomes a track car - you interested in parts for your restoration?
I found the hood prop in the back seat today. I wasn't sure what it was for! I was kinda curious as to what it was until I found this thread.
Would it be possible to take some pictures of the lights and switches below the steering column? I'm not sure what's factory on mine or what's been, ummm, "upgraded".

Hi jjorda,
Yes let's do a deal for some of your bits and pieces you don't need.
I was looking at that coupe you have when it was on Craigslist.
Here's an update on my dash repair. I'm no upholster expert but I'm happy with the results.

I would love a three sentence description of how you did that.

Repair broken sections and fill cracks with gorilla glue, spritz water onto repair areas to help set off gorilla glue.
Sand cured gorilla glue to smooth surfaces to your satisfaction then wipe everything off with isopropyl alcohol.
Acquire vinyl material and contact cement from appropriate supplier and cuss as you learn to apply the material using brute force and a heat gun, scissors, #11xacto and paper towels come in handy.
or the even shorter "Tarzan" version,
Glue, sand, glue, cover.

I guess we should take this to PM for parts sale, but let me know what you're looking for, and I'll get pictures.
