Looking forward to seeing photos once it's had a wash and clean. Drain and replace gas, ditto fuel and coolant, fresh battery, new spark plugs - and see what happens!

No cracks but it's a little bit warped, the glove box door gets stuck.

Did they originally come with a radio?

The radio was a dealer-installed item (common). There's nothing in your pictures that looks Abarth, other than the badge. Maybe someone just liked the Abarth badge, and put it there. I'd remove it, get the Fiat emblem and install it, and be happy that you have a standard Fiat spider -- nothing wrong with that! I wish you good success with your project.

So does that mean there are radio and speaker mounts on it somewhere? (I didn't think to look when I was there)

You think it could have an Abarth engine in it? Could that be why it has an Abarth badge? How would i Identify an abrth engine????

An 'Abarth' engine has a different engine number prefix (can't remember off the top of my head). Your engine number probably starts with 132AC**** or similar (there are links elsewhere which indicate what the original engine number for your car year was). I seriously doubt that there would be an Abarth block in your car; it would be a lot easier to get Abarth-like performance from modification of the existing block.

Quick question - do you have a single carburettor (circular air cleaner on top) or dual carburettors ('turtle-back air cleaner - or aftermarket air clenaers - particularly if sidedraft carburettors rather than downdraft).

As indicated previously, your car post-dates Abarth 124 production by a good couple of years, and I'd consider it unlikely someone would pull an Abarth engine to drop straight into a fairly stock Spider. I suspect the badge may be the only Abarth item on the car. (But you never know!)

I dont know, I'm not getting it til this weekend.

But what I'm trying to ask is could someone have put an abarth engine in it later? Could they have been available, could someone have bought an old abarth spider that was beyond repair (cause appearently there are hundreds of them) and put it in this spider and put the badge on it???

Well it's actually filled with car stereos (that work). I think there's three or four in the trunk. And spare rims.

good night

You might want to check your sources. There were 1,013 Abarth spiders built, of which maybe half now survive. They come up rarely, and when they do they command prices far above standard Spiders. I consider it extremely unlikely that someone would take an engine out of an Abarth and drop it into a stock Spider shell, then throw away the rest of the Abarth. If anything, the engine was one of the more stock items in the Abarth.
