Just read thru this post. Noticed the info on the header seemed a little light. I recall a couple years ago being told it was desinged by Bob or some one I dont know. And I recall seeing a well worn and beat example of this header at Marks shop. I was told then it was from you and you wanted Mark to build you a new one, he did but he added the stepper design. I saw the new one in his shop a short time later and was told it was made for you and on its way out the next day? Oh well I guess it really dosent matter, Id considered swapping out the header on my car for this type but just never did.

Rey,
Now you got me thinking.... I'm not sure WHO built that Header. I know I sent my old cracked race header to Mark for a new stepped one, but I can't remember if it was from Mark, or from Shadetree. I KNOW I bought one of Mark's spagetti headers for my street FIAT Spider. I just can't remember where the one for the Racer came from...

Hey Mark, any help?

I did build that header for your racer based on an old header you supplied. We added the stepper feature as the original did not have it. As I recall, you wrote me after installing the header in the middle of a race weekend that it lowered your lap times 2 seconds from Sat to Sun. Glad to hear it's still working

Mark,
Thanks for the reminder! Senior moment. The Header has held up pretty well, but my Fab guy has been replacing the 1-5/8 part of the primaries (the first 6") with 304ss bends, as the mild steel has been cracking. He's very clever at cutting out just the 1-5/8" part, right at the transition weld, and welding in the 304ss pieces. Two or three of the four runners have now been replaced. Good piece.

Talk to Rey about one, if you will want to do another. Or some of the other racers here...
