They were just marker lights to meet US laws. Check out Daniel Stern's Lighting improvements page, it is really good!

124Joe, the light is on even if I don't use the blinker. CRAZY!!

Do you have a link to Daniel's page discussing the Fiat lights?

Oh, it's not Fiat Spider specific? I found this page through google earlier. I'll take a look through.

RRoller. What set up do you have? Alternating or parallel?

I haven't done it yet but I think I will buy his module. It seems easier and will work in parallel. The side markers flashing opposite to the front ones just looks whacky to me. ?

While they do look wacky, I feel like more people will notice, pay attention and stay away. LOL

Just an editorial comment: This is one of those areas where a little money or effort can add a great deal of safety. It is a real safety enhancement I think to have the side markers act as turn signals. He also mentioned to me that he has replacement side marker and turn signal bulbs that are 4X brighter than the stock. I am going to change them all over to these as well, front and back. Not sure what the bulb p/n is or whether you can get them elsewhere. I assume so.

When you do it, post it up. I'm a fan of safety. I'm glad you brought this to my attention. So when are these lights actually supposed to light up? When my headlights are on?

Well. The odd thing, is that it was working fine at first. Then BAM. Started doing it. Just that side. I'm going to go through the diagrams with my father in law on Wednesday or Thursday.

On the lighting switch, as Joe said, UP is off (Euro style. opposite what one would expect in the US. MIDDLE is the usual Parking Lights as we would expect (side marker lights included) and DOWN is driving lights including the side markers.
