I have had success before on flat ground too, I think it's to do with this dumb style hose, there's a bunch of ribs that trap air, it's annoying. Definitely gonna get it tonight.

Anyone know where I can source one of these little clips? I have four... Need five. Wouldn't mind buying five new ones while I'm in here if I can find them at a parts store... NAPA doesn't have anything for me.

I don't think you took it off. But when you take off the metal cover around the inner shift boot, these are the clips that the screws go into to hold the metal plate down.

This metal plate:

Hey Jimmy,

Yeah I know what those are. One broke on me when I had the cover off. I was able to duct tape the bottom half to the underside of the floor and got the screw hook up and it tighten up fine. I hope I'm not the one to take that cover off the next time.

Lowe's had some of those type clips but they didn't have the fat bottom I don't think. Bet you could make them work though.

BTW, my little A's Hardware Store shocks me all the time with the metrics they keep in stock. If you got one around you might give them a try.

Good Luck.

I have an ACE Hardware. And others. I don't care if they have the nylon. It can't be that important... but then again, I'm not an engineer. LOL

I'm going to try and put my console together today. The top is off. I'll need to get new bolts for that. Anyone have recommendations for tiddying up the wires under the dash? Also the harness on the floor near the driver. Anyone have pics of that? I need to neaten that up so it's lower profile.

the loom is for running wires together "out of sight"

zip ties and loom goes along way in the clean up

I have all the organizing stuff laying around my garage. I just don't know where everything used to run as I didn't take it all apart. Just wondering if there are "better" places to lay things than others. Also, there seems to be a lot of wires to hide behind the top part of the console where the radio and everything goes.

And that giant python of a harness on the floor is a bear when I'm trying to fit this carpet. It must be in wrong or something. Maybe I have them piled on top of each other? I don't know.

Trying to dry fit my lower console. You know the long metal tabs with the triangles cut into them? What are those for? Should they be bent down over the inner boot metal plate? Or outward and down toward the floor? Or are they supposed to stick straight up?

I believe they are for holding the insulation (sound/heat padding) in place

the factory carpet is to run all the way up and just over them then hook into the triangle cuts

Hmmm... I don't think my carpet can go up that high. Will check it out.

I was just looking at my brake lights. I figured I'd try and put them in. I put one in fine. Seems like there is a little gap around my rubber ring where the light bends. Is that typical?

The other light has one broken stud. While I think I can get away without using it, I'd like to replace it if possible. Is that possible?

Hope you don't mind me backtracking a bit on your thread, but for the thermostat, did you drill the hole in the disk that's at bottom side of the thermostat, kinda looks like a cup and is attached to the peg that holds the whole inner pieces up?
