just another snippet:
if you take your windshield frame and door off, bear in mind that the windscreen frame and the 1/4 front window on the door are adjustable.
I now know why my 1/4 window on the door had its a frame cracked apart? it had been hitting the windscreen frame every time the door was closed! I adjusted both items and now it closes great no pressure on the 1/4 window

I cannot answer your quest, but... Wow. It’s a good thing you decided to spin up the oil pump for a primer bath.
That could have been a real heartbreaking setback.

Those holes are open to the block. Put some short bolts or studs with sealer and your leak will go away.
BTW Nice build.

If its open to the block why would it spit out with pressure? its above the oil line! Seems to me that it is connected somehow to an oil gallery. then oil pressure is a worry.
Anyway I placed the original bolts back in with thread sealer and a locking nut for the moment. I will get some shorter bolts to replace them permanently.
That's about the fifth bolt hole on this engine that is open to an oil gallery, two in the exhaust manifold two in the intake manifold?

That seems like a terrible design ... perfect way to get crud and dirt into the oil just when replacing or servicing parts!

Update on progress 99% complete!!!
Has a few issues when firing up the engine which I figured I would have. The PO had butchered the wiring loom from the ECU to the double relay then to the AFM and the fuel pump.
I had completely renovated the wiring loom to original and then added a few relays so I was expecting some trouble from the switch back to original specs.
First culprit was the double relay it was not switching the fuel pump on when the afm door was moved so this had to be replaced.
once new relay was installed power was back at the pump when AFM door was moved ok good news! Bad news was the engine would just fire for a few seconds and then quit! WTF?
Back to the testing session turns out the fuel injectors were getting a 12v power but no ground interrupting from the ECU! did all testing procedure but I did not want to believe the final result?
Ok so I end up borrowing a few ECU's just to confirm that mine was indeed kaput. installed a known working one and voila instant start
Ok relief and sadness at the same time! I had to buy a new (used) ECU kudos to john Erskine for his use of a working ecu and being able to buy one from him!
So the car now moves under its own power from 3 years ago!!
All doors and trim is now installed. Only the trunk and hood is left. hope to have the car complete by the end of August

Hey Drummond, really nice work!
While reading Your thread i wonder why You put the rubber ( wich is for the hood ) under the windshield?
https://www.ebay.de/itm/Fiat-124-Spider ... 2585548573
Is it better to place it here?

Hi Basso
Thanks for the nice compliments!
As far as the hood rubbers are concerned, I just placed them under the cowl, so I did not lose them when the time comes to fit the hood on
