Surprisingly, I don't have one for the Fiat, but you guys have provided some good ideas. My other cars have these vanity plates:

Porsche: 9 ONE ONE
Lancia: ZAGATO (still can't believe I snagged that one).
BMW: M POW3R

Mine says "72SPIDER". Now all I have to do is get one for my 71 and my X19. Dang, $50 per personalized plate a year is steep though.

I thought a LONG time (here the custom plates are $200, slightly more than the $50 you mention!!!)

My car that I fell in love with (strangely, it was the MOST expensive!!) is jet Black... and it is Italian (duh)

My tatoo is a Raven (Translations: Dutch: ravezwart French: noir comme un corbeau Italian: corvino(it)

"CORVINO"

adjective
Of the color of the raven; jet-black

Very happy with my selection. Hoping, when I pass an Italian family out for a drive they see my plate, and smile :D
Due to recent budget cuts and the rising cost of electricity, gas, and oil, we have decided to turn off the light at the end of the tunnel. We apologize for any inconvenience.

1981 Fiat Spider, all black... "Corvino", italian for the Raven

Still do not have mine, but there are some great ideas from this thread for when I get to buy one. In my case, it has to be some Italian word... will see what is available when registering the car.

Here is what I have on my cars today:

Wachuko
911 C4 WB (is a 911 Carrera 4 with a Wide Body)
RSR 3-0

Some photos:

I no longer have this car, but the plate was moved to the X5:

On the Spider, I still have the orginal plate that I received when I moved back to Ontario from Quebec in 1979, having bought the car in Montreal. It is boring - OOL544 - but still has the original 1979 validation sticker, which raises a few eyebrows.

On the Mazda, I have DPIM - DPI Motorsports - which is also my email address at yahoo.ca.

Of course, on the Porsche I have...

...with a friend :D

If I ended up getting one, I think it would read "IZA-FIAT" because people always ask me what kind of car it is and it has that American, Italian accent to it. I'm sure you guys get it too. The questions always come in 2 waves.

1st Question: Wow, what kind of car is that :P

1st Answer: It's a Fiat Spider :o

2nd Question: That's a Ford Fiat right?

2nd Answer: Yes!

Copycat! Interestingly, this reflects a difference between the Australian/English pronounciation of the vehicle number, and the American version.

Aus/UK: One Two Four
US: One Twenty-Four

That's why my (Australian) plates are I II IV and 1 11 1V.

Do the Americans refer to the Porsche 911 as a Nine-Eleven? Or a Nine One One? (Or a Nine Hundred Eleven? Or a Ninty One One??)
