I think his inquiry regarding cutting down the outer part of the flywheel an extra 0.020 is that it would increase the clamping force of the existing pressure plate.

the question isn't very clear. If you're asking about cutting the mounting surface at different levels you stand the chance of the pressure plate going over center when the pedal is depressed
