Mike and Karl, that was the brake I worked on so I am glad the leak is somewhere else. But not happy you have a leak.
They sell a rebuild kit for the booster for $20. if you need it.

yup, it was leaking on that corner you worked at. i thought you were a better mechanic than that, and kept scratchin' my head about the whole sitchiation. Still wondering if it was already causing trouble on that particular day...remember how long it too to get pressure on the front end? Glad it wasn't somethin' obvious either, cuz NOT locating the leak was getting frustrating.

remember this:

i'm gonna start with a rebuilt M/C from Vick's, and new reservoir hoses. I'll play with the odds that Matt's warning won't need to be addressed in this instance.

I suspect that you have a leak from the feed hose, a cracked reservoir or that the plastic nipple that pushes into the rubber grommet on top of the MC is either loose, cracked or has pulled part way out of the rubber grommet of the MC. The fluid is then flowing along the hard line that leads to the left front caliper or down the firewall, over the frame rail to the ground.

I tend to try to look at the simplest explanations and move on to the more complex and expensive problems.

I had essentially the same thing happen on my coupe 18 years ago.

Of course in your case I could be entirely wrong.
