i was going to use a suction type of sprayer the one you put a hose in the liquid, its a throw away from harbour freight, the por15 topcoat might be to thick but the rust preventer or rust converter should be thin enough if not they have a reducer
mdrburchette wrote:The only thing I'd be concerned about is getting the POR 15 into nooks and crannies that sandblasting may have left naked metal. Isn't POR 15 too thick to spray? I sent my shell to a sandblaster and after getting the sand out of every orifice known to man, we sprayed the shell with epoxy primer to seal the metal from the elements.

You can always use a brush for the tricky spots, and turn the rotissary to help flow
into crevaces. Kinda like basting a turkey...

Don't waste you money on POR15, the best is to go with a two part epoxy, or bed liner coating. Prep the metal with a phospate acid, like metal prep or go to you local hardware store/ Home depot and pick up some "Must for rust". This is the same stuff they want you to use to prep the metal for POR15 but at 1/4 the cost.

Ted, this Must For Rust, does it really work that well? I have a 50' X 14' deck made from steel on my house that has rust on it. I've been grinding the rust off and priming it with Rustoleum, then painting it. Do you just spray this stuff on instead of grinding?

Well, Duh! You gotta put wheels on the deck too. Ain't that how they do it in the Georgia mountains, Craig?

Mark, it feels like a battleship when you're stripping the sucker. You can see it behind the Fiat:

I'll bet on a sunny day you don't walk barefoot on it, or do you use it as a giant griddle?

It doubles as a grill. Now you see why it's so improtant to get it rust free?
