Glad it worked out :D . I know you can't carry around a spare of everything that might break in your car, but a clutch cable is one thing that might qualify. Many years ago I was stuck at a gas station for about three hours (on a hot summer weekend day, a very long way from home, with my young wife and baby son) waiting for a mechanic to deliver and install a broken clutch cable on my VW bus (thankfully it broke just as I was leaving the gas station, or we would have been in even worse straits). No one was happy that day. For the remaining time we owned that auto it carried a spare clutch cable stashed away.

The busses are notorious for having clutch and gas cables break. I think it's because they're so long.

FYI: The Clutch Cable is often available from your local Automotive Chain Stores same day for under $20. It will often be the Pioneer brand.

Here is the one (Pioneer Clutch Cable CA-251 for $19.99) from AutoZone that I used in mine: https://www.autozone.com/drivetrain/clu ... /22855_0_0

Yeah I originally bought from a chain store, it said next day delivery, still hasn't even shipped but hey they charged me and said no refunds so we'll see if I get that one to keep in the trunk as a spare.

I walked in and ordered from the counter for next day in-store pickup. They verified it was in the local warehouse and had it the next morning. Don't order on-line when I need it fast plus the shipping is always free in-store. I called first and spoke with someone before I went to the store to verify everything before I walked into the store to place the order. Nice to be able to physically verify the correctness of the part at the counter by comparing it to the old one before leaving the store with it. I often don't have to pay in advance when I order at the local store.
