What, you don't keep a dead body in the trunk in the Winter for extra traction, that you wouldn't want the valet to, "uncover"...?

Speaking of the Jaguar approach to odd problems: My '93 XJ6 has a severe throbbing noise when the sunroof is opened all the way up and you're going over 30 mph or so, likely a design flaw caused by some inadvertent airflow issue over the top of the car. Rather than address that, they added a switch so that the sunroof only opens about two-thirds in normal operation, and thus no throbbing noise. The other selection on the switch is called "grandstand" mode, which allows the sunroof to be opened fully, but you're only supposed to use that at low speeds, such as when you're waving to the crowds as you enter Buckingham Palace. :D

All joking aside, I've had many British friends over the years and have been across the pond more times than I can count.

My 86 XJ6 did the same thing, but it didn't have a restricted movement, I just had to learn how far to open it to keep that buffeting from driving us crazy!
