back in the mid 70s, Spiders had electric pumps from the factory

Does my 82 have valve reeds?? If it does where are they?? What do they do?? I'm new to this, Sorry for all the questions. :?

no reed valves on 82s, those only came on some 79 models

Are there any downsides to removing the reed valves and plugging the holes?

The only one that I can think of -- and this only applies if you have a catalytic converter -- is that without the air injection into the exhaust, the exhaust might strain the catalytic converter. In other words, it might run hotter and not last as long.
