It should be the one with the spring. Tighten it all the way down, then back the screw out about 2 turns. It should run and you can fiddle with the screw until it runs smoothly as you increase throttle. Mine is set at 1-3/4 turns out and runs great. Good luck.

Good job! Making progress. Since the car was running, then wasn't, I'd be careful about changing carb settings that may be ok as is. Look for a problem elsewhere, clog in fuel system, etc.

Okay so I checked my idle mixture screw and it was about 6 turns out! so I set it to about 1 3/4 and now giving it some gas, it will stay running for about 30 seconds but I still have to start it with starting fluid then keep it going with the accelerator pedal and sometimes it would idle without me giving it gas but not often. I looked down in the carburetor barrel and noticed that the jets aren't spraying correctly, they are spraying fuel but its in two different streams and sloppy I think they are clogged, do I have to take apart the carb to clean those out? or is there an easier way to get in there

Chances are that your idle jets are dirty/plugged. I think you can remove them without disassembling the carb, but I'm not near my car to check how it's done. Find a schematic for your model of carb and it should be relatively easy to figure out.

They probably unscrew from the bottom after pulling the bowl? I don't know, I am an FI fellow. Might be pretty hard to get at and see with the carb on the car?

No Pete - those would be the main jets, which eventually should be cleaned as well. The idle jets are accessible on the outside. On my ADFA one is behind the ICU solenoid (on the left side), and the other is directly opposite it, both near the top of the bowl portion. Be careful not to damage or lose the tiny rubber O rings. If possible use compressed air to clean the jets.

Alright so I took apart the whole carb cleaned out all the jets with carb cleaner and compressed air and I found some orange dust sitting at the bottom of my float chamber (probably not good). Anyways I cleaned everything put It all back together aaaand pretty much nothing changed. Still needs starting fluid to start and will die in if I let off the gas or in around 10-20 seconds

Did you inspect or change the accelerator pump diaphragm?

It's under a square cover retained by four screws on the left side just in front of the solenoid/idle jet. There's a lever that depresses the centre of the device from below. The rubber diaphragm can be torn from age and if so must be replaced.
