Back in 1972 I had a '69 124 and a friend had a '69 850.
The 850 was so under powered. Only 4 speed tranny. No oil filter - except the centrifical built in filter. Not good fitting top and the seats were not as good.
He did get better mileage but just was slow as dirt.
He blew engine at about 50k miles - it just did not see well engineered in my opinion.

Lost money on every restore and mod ive ever done. But loved doing the work and enjoyed the vehicles while I had them.
But you will not get your money back out

Find a good solid one to polish up and fix up a little with routine work like new brakes, tires, tune up and thats a moneymaker

you want to do mods and full restoration?---get out your checkbook and cry

if you love spitting out rust particles and pulling out wire wheel splinters for a couple of years than go for it :D . I must have because I found I lost interest and sold when they were completed.

Either build for yourself & the love of doing it, or build it to flip for profit, I think they are two very different approaches

Im a bad businessman when it comes to classic cars but I do have my dreams, I have my dreams......
