For street use 40 IDFs work just fine on a 2L motor, been using them for decades. The flow rates given by Fiatfactory above were for 28mm venturis but the standard Fiat setup uses 32mm venturis. The IDFs suit my personal preferences of giving immediate throttle response over a single two-barrel. They look great and sound great. Having said that, a single two barrel is much easier to live with and tpically can be had with an automatic choke. 44 IDFs need a 44 IDF manifold and those can be really hard to find. On the 2L spider I sold a few months ago, I removed the IDFs and installed a 34ADF. I wanted the new buyer to have ease of use and the 32ADF comes with a water choke. The motor had high compression pistons but was otherwise stock and it ran great. Again, this was for street use, not living at the redline.
