Tappy ,the German beer must really have a high alcohol content!! :lol: I thought those latches were meant ot be used as armrests,no wonder they fell off.I did try the mirror adhesive w/ the activator with little success,but it was in the colder weather so maybe I'll try again.At around a 100 MPH ,they tend to whistle w/o the latch and it really annoys me! :wink:

Ron, finally read your reply on the push verses pull. Please note that i said the passenger side has been glued on so many times that I have lost count.

the driver's side, to the best of my knowledge still has the factory adhesive behind it.

hmmm, I drive...she rides. any clues here?

Exactly why I said you and Craig were excluded from the advice. Now, the only problem becomes, how do we: ask people not to use the door as a crutch; don't pull on the latch to close the wing window; don't lean back to hard on the back of the seat;
without sounding too anal? (Especially when it's the better half.)

it doesn't matter what you do to those things. They're going to fall off. I had the local auto glass company glue mine on my 71 and 72 when he came out to repair a cracked windshield. He said their work was guaranteed for life. One just fell off before he even left my house and another fell off during the night. He came back and glued them both on but now each car has one off. I dont think it's the glue since I found some glass actually stuck to one.

That explains it. I was gonna reply those look like the latches from my old 2002, and I was wondering why they were in a Spider forum!

There may be something to this theory. Perhaps that's why the later type do not have the wee finger handle ?
You never know, it could be the glue maker's promises to Fiat / Pinnin did not live up to the spec ?

The Glue I think I've found it ! !

I've successfully reglued the latches to the vent windows with this product from Permatex, the kit includes a glue stick as well ( it wouldn't fit in the scanner )

It worked so well that when I tried to remove one of the latches to reposition it, I broke the glass !

I believe that's what the autoglass company used to glue mine on...and they stuck like glue...until one fell off 6 months later with part of the glass stuck on it. :roll:
