Meeting the CEO of Fiat

Kenn, good for you for getting your hands dirty and working on the car! Congrats for getting to visit Turin and the Fiat CEO. That's a very rare form of attention so I hope you really enjoyed it. Italy is a phenomenal county (though I confess I am more than a little biased!).

He then offered me a internship and 4 years of school at their engineering school right after i graduate high school.

Jump at this chance! It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! Make this happen!!! Work hard in all your courses to get the marks you need so you can do the engineering as well as be well rounded. You'll never regret it! (I say this both as a parent and a high school teacher.) Start taking an Italian course by next year. When you do get to Italy after high school, soak up the culture and lifestyle! There's no substitute for experience and this is the kind of thing that will really have an impact on you for ever.

Congrats again and know how lucky you are to have a family that is supporting you in this endeavor.

Speaking as a practicing engineer...

I work in the heavy truck industry, but have experience in the aerospace/defense industry as well (my degree is in Aeronautical/Astronautical Engineering). I have seen many young engineers who have not had the advantage of hands-on experience with working on mechanical systems. I would like to encourage you to take advantage of any engineering opportunities that present themselves - you will have a leg up on anyone who has not had the opportunity to wrench things for themselves. In my experience, the Italians are some "unsung heroes" in the world of engineering. Take him up on his offer!!

Grab life by the balls ill try that. As much as i love working on my cars and motorcycles, im stoked to see what life has in store for me. Ill let you guys know once i start manufacturing my own cars for sale! Thanks for the encouragement everyone!
