If you have spark as you say you do, you do not need to run a new wire.

I had a question regarding the fuel return line while I wait for new hoses. The new carb did not have a connection for a fuel return line, in an earlier post Mark said to use a fuel filter with a return line. So I got one but the it is very large as compared to the old inline filter and there was little room to mount it before the pump so I put it after the pump. Should I install it before the fuel pump?

No. Between the pump and carb is where the filter with the return needs to be.

That is what I thought. I did a little research before installing and the main opinion was after the pump due to most inline filters being design to have fuel pushed thru instead of pulled thru.

Update,
I replaced the old hoses from the tank and arranged the fuel filter correctly, apparently if you use a fuel filter with a return line the return line is supose to be above the carb line and level. I tried to start him, almost on the first try I then rotated the distributor counter-clockwise a little and he fired up but would not hold an idle. I rotated the distributor a little more and tried again a little better, at least it revved a little but would not hold an idle. I did not feel comfortable rotating the distributor any more so I quit for the night until I can get some advice on a better aproach. I installed the Petronix with a 0.010 gap between the lob and the unit as directed by the instructions, but I have noticed on other car sites with other cars the gap varries. Does anyone have any experience with this? Also, my distributor only had one OEM advance spring and the other one the PO replaced with a very stiff spring so I order the HEI kit and used the medium springs (from reading other posts on the forum) is this ok? Or should I just drop the cash and get a new distributor from Mr. Fiat http://mrfiat.com/italian/fiat/fiat-124 ... r-new.html ? As far as getting him timed I think if I can find someone I'll take it to them.
Thanks
