Where does the coupler go

If you purchased it from Mark's, I would recommend you ask there to get the most accurate response.

the flex coupler should go between the collector and the front mount. We include very detailed instructions with the exhaust system explaining how the system should be mounted (with the included hardware). Unfortunately, many buyers prefer to build their own system. This can lead to a system that completely contradicts what we sell. We've seen systems with every joint welded solid with solid mounts and all of the weight hanging on the header and the header wrapped. An installation with these sorts of problems virtually guarantees that the header will be damaged.
We also include in the instructions detailed information about tuning and the temperatures that the header and coating can withstand. It's critical to have the engine properly tuned or the header can be overheated and it will fail if it's melted down. I've had cars come in that were far enough out-of-tune that the header temps hit 1500f under heavy load. After tuning, the exhaust temps were in the 600 range under the same conditions. If you don't have the ability to measure air/fuel ratios and exhaust temps, then you need a professional tuner

they look like standard K&N or EMPI filters for IDF.

They are empi,s, I cut one up but still have one. They come in different heights. Might go that route again, or might make a similar looking set up using a 240 z air cleaner.

As you can see from the pictures, I have your exhaust system; have it installed using your mounts, connectors and no welding. What I do not have is a flex joint which I suspect I need otherwise why would you have added it to the current system? How do I get that flex joint and add that to my system?

flex joints are available from any muffler shop or I can supply one. It should be installed in front of the first exhaust system mount

So how is the flex joint merged into an existing down pipe? Sounds like cutting, fabricating and possibly welding which would make what I have look terrible.

the pipe would have to be cut and the flex joint either welded or clamped. We started including these because we found many installers mounting the system with solid mounts, not allowing any flex in the system

The bottom of that car looks like it just came off the assembly line. Very clean. No oil or road dirt anywhere.... Wow... is that a frame up restore?

The car is stunning.

It isn't done yet but the motor is in and running.

Mostly interior left now.
