Very interesting thread. I may try this on my X19 if it doesn't get tossed over a cliff in the near future....or I may just throw a carb setup on it and be done with it!

An X19? I know nothing about them. Did they have F.I.?
The only thing I know about them is that they were always in my way in trying to get to the parts counter at the Fiat dealership. LOL. Who made the X19, Hot Wheels or Matchbox.

Pope! Shame on you for bashing another Fiat! Actually, these little cars are supposed to be the ultimate fun, although I haven't first hand experience with mine yet. It's this terrible need to rescue these poor little cars from degradation that keeps getting me into trouble. I will eventually succeed, but you fellas will have to endure a lot of my bellyaching in the process! :P

no, i dont think so. just doing all the maintinence, trying to get the brakes to actually stop the car , and swapped out the radio and speakers for something a little better. oh swapped out one webber for two, and swapped out one set of wheels for some that were sitting behind the garage out back with new tires. what a diff.

What would be a reasonable price to pay for have a head flowed & ported?

if those are Reys' shorts, he's never getting into that X.

Expect to pay at least $800 to get your head ported

I spent a bit of time last night navigating through the Guy Croft website (most of it is way over my head BTW) and came across a couple of the threads that spoke about the extent that the 2L FI engines can be modified and it echoed what has been discussed here. My question is should these modifacations be done all at once in conjunction with a full engine rebuild or can one pick away at each upgraded separately. For example, can I go ahead and put in a rising rate fuel pressure regulator first, them get the head ported and polished and then do the pistons/rebuild at a later date? Will I see performance gains with each improvement along the way?

Thanks,

Steve
