what kind of a sticker is that? Looks to be on an FI spider, so that at least narrows it down (and makes me realize why I might not have one). isn't VS+ OLIO FIAT some type of oil or something?

Yes its a Fiat Oil sticker, mine is also half gone on my 82 spider, good luck finding a new one.

Im a Graphic designer and Ive just recreated, to scale, sets of engine bay decal sheets for the 124 AS, BS and CS.
Printed on high grade Polyurathane Vinyl and include the allocation details.

They are going to be available through my site at £15 ($30) per sheet plus delivery. Im currently in the progress of getting the site up and running. If you want any in the meantime please message me and I will give you further details.

Any other decals that you require I can create at cost, just contact me.

There was a sticker pack on eBay this week with the 'Oil' sticker in it. - However the seller had a reserve price on it and wanted $70USD for the 'buy now'. The advertisment states he can get stickers made to order.
