For permanent I welded a piece of tube onto the flat bar from the rubber, really had to nail the alignment with the holes on the frame bracket and drilled through everything . Somehow I made it work.

Thank you Chris!! I will give it a try this weekend. Trying to see what the issue with the hard start is... :x But don't want to hijack this thread...

Speaking of bumpers my 73 bumpers stick out further than I see on the older cars or have they tucked them in the body? The from bumper I could not see how you get the mount off. Im guessing you have to remove the bumper and there is a long rod that runs through the tube and rubber frame mount?

I like the early bumpers as well, I started looking to get some for my 79, but engine troubles have come up that need attention first. I will say though, my brakes went out completely leaving my apartment complex and Inailed the gate at 2 or 3 mph and iI was very glad I have the big tubes with all that rubber on cause I have not even a scratch. The gate definitely lost that fight.

Dang slo, that's so damage. Unfortunately I suppose that's the risk we take driving any car though. To remove the bumpers you have to accept that that kind of damage is more easily done...

I have a '76 124 Spider and would like to switch to the stainless steel earlier style bumpers. The earlier style front bumper seems to work well, but I'm not so sure about the split rear bumper with the license mounted high between the tailights. I don't want to reposition the plate lower. Any suggestions? Would the 1 pc. front bumper also work on the rear, or is the curve too great? Anyone know if a TR6 rear bumper could fit? Any other ideas?

I like that spoiler....
What I like are your wheels! What size are those? They look bigger than 13" wheels.

Sorry I can not let you vent. If you like the look of the big bumpers....good for you. If you want me to change my car, send $1500 my way and I will put some early bumpers on my car.
I will drive down and take you car and then you won't have to worry about 1500 . Or some one wanting bumper on :D

You can not just come down here and take my car! It's an old Fiat, you would have to fix it first.

I think your car's front end looks awesome, where did you get your spoiler? Shoes, very nice as well. I like those little bumperettes, but I like the early chrome bumpers as well. good Job!
