I found one at a much cheaper price than IAP. I installed before I added the header and eliminated the cat converter, I noticed a little difference in the sound of the engine but the exhaust sounded the same. I also added a heat shield to the filter. I think the setup looks pretty cool but I don't think it's worth the price IAP charges. I attached a couple photos.

A real cold air intake will give a slight change in sound. Some people describe it as a "sucking" sound. Nothing major though. performance on a stock engine won't be vastly increased. the real benefit from a K&N filter is the higher quality material and the fact it's reusable. The only way you could get some more power through a filter change is if you tried your own ram air setup. I don't know where you would route it though.

Refer to the Powerstack Free-Flow kit. This looks like any K&N filter that can be bought at most auto stores. I have been running one for most of this summer and can notice a little improvement in performance. I think anytime you can increase incoming air flow, you will see improvement. You will hear a deeper intake sound on full acceleration. You can buy a complete kit at International Auto Parts or you can buy a power stack, fabricate an adapter to the mass air flow sensor, fabricate a way to attach to the base of original air cleaner and have basically the same results of complete kit at a fraction of the cost.
Go to Advance Auto and I believe you can find the power stack and an adapter for the mass air flow sensor. I would post a picture, but have yet to master that process. Maybe this winter when I have some extra time.
