Jim,
Could you show/tell more about the hinges you used for the vertical panel? I would think they would need to be strongly locked into place to hold the screen vertical without vibrations, movement, etc.

And do you have movement/vibration in the rear, flat panel? It looks like it's fixed to the maple cross beam, but just hanging out along the back.

I'll get up some more pics....but it will have to wait because I'm away until December. But to answer your question; yes the flat screen is fixed to the maple. I use ss machine screws drilled thru the front of the maple and tapped into the aluminum frame. I used ss hinges that are small enough to not be ugly and obtrusive, but certainly more than adequate to hold the vertical piece in place without vibration, even on the open highway. I really wanted this unit to be functional but looked professional... like it was something that could have come from the factory. And I'm really happy with the end result, although as I've said earlier, if I was to build another there are certainly a few things I could improve on.

Cheers,
Jim

Missed Jim's comments, since he moved to wormer places. He was ALWAYS posting in Custom his designs and custom looks... Always look like Factory.

Jim... Memory says you had an incredible pearlized white Fiat... Did jealous souls steal it??
Due to recent budget cuts and the rising cost of electricity, gas, and oil, we have decided to turn off the light at the end of the tunnel. We apologize for any inconvenience.
