Good job!Cars looking great.Just curious,have you had any problems with the heat from the headers frying the
wires in the distributor?I've got a 79 also and the PO took the heat shield off over the stock exhaust system
and I had to replace the pickup assembly in the distributor because the insulation was brittle and falling off.I was
also wondering where you found the 1800 head and intake manifold.

I have a header on mine, and have had for several years, with no heat issues. I don't believe the tin cover on the stock exhaust manifold is necessarily a heat shield as much as a heat collecter to funnel warm air to the carb on warm up in cold weather.

Where did you find a header for a 79 the only place I know is at Allison's and that is about 650 way to much for that . What is yours for is it for a 2000 or 1800 motor you said you changed the head
