Here's where I moved the wiper switches. This is also where the switches for the heated seats went to (not pictured)

Lol... the boats weren't mine... Back when I was "going thru the Big D", I rented a room from a friend, who had a nice workshop I was allowed to build in.
The boats are his, from a kit. I regularily riduculed his works (tho some were actually fairly nice), as one of his steps in every project was to cover the finished wood with wood filler to "fix the imperfections". He mocked me for being so meticulous... and slow

Thanks for all the responses! You all make really good points. I don't ever plan on selling the car so it' nit that I want to get my money back out if it, I just want it's price value to reflect how valuable it is to my family. I get that it probably never will match the sentimental value that it holds In our hearts:( but at least the modification will make me happy, maybe decrease the value, maybe inecrease the value, it all depends on the personal opinion I guess. I'll be sure to keep the original dash just in case I want to go back to stock, but I think the new dash will be in there for a while:) the dash I'm making is taking shape and looking good! I'll try to get some pics up when the projects done so you guys can see the final product . Thanks again for all the replies and I took into consideration all that was said:)

I forgot to mention that I really like what you have done kingme2! It looks great, I too plan on moving some of the switches around to Simplify the dash a bit.

Piece of advice: if using real wood... pick a sealer that has good UV protection.
Mine was a gorgeous rust red (padauk or paduak) , turned almost indistinguishable dark brown.

Well gotta say I really like the look. I keep going back and forth as well.. go orignal or mods..orginal or mods aaahhh. but in the end I know I will go for what I like. I mean I bought the car for me.. Now as far as the wood it looks good but I think I personlay will go with the brushed aluminum that I have seen on others.
