I'm planning on putting an Alfa V6 into my 73 couple without the transaxle

I have seen some guy with a GM V6 in a Fiat Spider. I don't remember the website but he had several pictures of the process.

Then there is the guy who put the Vette engine in one, and the one with a Ford V8. Both extensively customized and detailed on websites.

Just remember that your brakes are the first thing to upgrade!!

brakes would be a good idea... probably the first thing on the list, because I believe that the alfa v6 will be competing for space with the brake booster!

Hmmm... havent seen much documentation on the net about these alternate engine fiats.... just a few "teaser" pictures... I would really like to see a write up on the alfa spider swap....

Hey, So(uthern) Cal(ifornia) Mark, have you done any planning for your swap?? How's the availibility of alfa engines (and transmissions)? Would like to hear how your project goes!!

Back to brakes... you may have read about my drum brake equiped [on the rear axle] 124 spider with what appears to be an early style front access differential [rather than the rear cover access].... I am still trying to locate brake shoes and drums for the beast...oh, and wheel cylinders... the pass side is leaking and has ruined the shoes on that side.... and my spring driving season!!!!! Grrrr... Someone did mention that I may have a 131 rear axle... but i cant even find parts for that model! (suppose I could spring for the parts to convert to disk brakes... but the money tree is out of season right now!)

Cheers all!!
