It wouldn't work. The British are the masters of self-deprecating humour. You wouldn't get a rise, maybe just a bemused smirk and a raised eyebrow.
On the other hand, you could play off the football rivalries, driving them through Swansea with a Cardiff flag in the back...

How about if we have the hosts drive thru London in an M1A1, announcing that they are there to annex the Isles and make them a territory of the USA??
