4th Annual So Cal Turkey Trot-Nov 28th
4th Annual So Cal Turkey Trot-Nov 28th
Save the date and get ready to drive off the effects of too much turkey and pumpkin pie! The 4th annual Turkey Trot will be held Sunday, November 28th. We'll meet at the Starbucks Coffee in La Verne around 9am. First car out at 10am. The drive will be up Mt Baldy and over the Ridge Route into Glendora. Then wrap it up with lunch at In-N-Out.
I'll post the Starbucks address prior to the event. This is a really fun drive, don't miss it!

I will try to make it to "The Trot". I took out the radiator to get it recored and thought it would be a good time to change the timing belt, pulley, hoses...etc. Wish me luck, if I get all the parts on time I should be there.

Got the car running last night, burped the cooling system and the temperature was fine. Replaced the thermostat along with all the other parts. Thanks for the offer Brian, have a safe trip from SLO.

Sorry Gents but thanks to some stray dogs and one dobie I wont be able to attend. Now I have to decide what do do with this car I just invested 3500.00 dollars into. I did buy the 77 for parts but dont know if I want to invest in fixing this car rather than find another good pre 76 car and just change all my parts over.
If anyone has a good bodied pre 76 car Im interested. Brian

I don't follow. Did you hit all those dogs while driving your spider? I hope that's not what happened.

Re: 4th Annual So Cal Turkey Trot-Nov 28th
Only took hitting one brown stray female Dobie to due the damage. Missed the rest. Searching for a good body that would be cheaper than fixing this one. I may get frustrated and just put a listing on Ebay for both cars and all my parts starting at .99 cents. If I happen to get the other car i bought for parts running good, old gas and tbelt seems a bit loose, I may drive it back home. Otherwise its a rental car.

I'm in my usual "exited about a Fiat run" mode. What time were you planning on heading out Tom? We should caravan over to LaVerne.

Hi Ron,
We were really jazzed about the Turkey Trot, the Spider has other ideas though. Everything was going so well after the timing belt replacement, but I test drove it Tuesday night and it started to lose power so I drove it home to check out today. It is hard to start and runs really poorly. Very low compression on # 2 & 3, not sure what happened. I'll post some details on the engine and tuning forum, sorry we will miss the "Trot" this year.
Sorry about the accident Brian, hope you are OK otherwise.
Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving.
Tom

Oh man! That's too bad. I was looking forward to going tandem. I'll tell you what, I'll give a wave as I pass Santiago Rd.
