Ok so I just have to learn to take the Ebay button off my quick links. I dont need this pressure! At any case I won it so I had to follow through. Picked it up Saturday in Riverside and took back to my moms house in Apple Valley. I would hope my brother would like to tinker with it but it seems he has lost his mechanical touch at age 50, great.
Im not sure what carbs those are besides webers or the intake. Was told it had cams installed and rebuilt motor, no receipts. Although it must have some engine work as it had been painted and no over spray on filter housing or head. Barley runs with old gas in there and Im sure the carbs are needing to be rebuilt.
Being this is a 1977 it wont pass smog of course so parting it out will be the best option I think. My brother loves the seats and wants them for his BMW....good I hate them and he can do the job to remove them. I was interested in buying the car mainly for parts for my 1975 one I have been fixing. Roll Bar, Wheels, Windshield Frame, Carbs and maybe keep the running gear as spares.
I did pass someone towing a red X19 behind a Van on my way up the 15. Anyone here?
If there is interest in buying the whole car from me or needing some parts let me know.
Also any information on the carbs or how to tell if the cams are of a different kind Ill be all ears. Brian

I'm pretty sure you've got a couple of 40IDF70 carbs. These appear to be coveted items in this community Check out Weber carbs direct for a rebuild kit. Here's an exploded view:

The '76 that I purchased a while back had a pair of 40IDFs. I did a rebuild on mine and I passed Colorado emissions a few weeks ago. Pretty straightforward rebuild. My advice: pay attention to thoroughly cleaning out ALL the holes in the emulsion tubes and the jets. Rebuild 'em one at a time and if you forget how something goes together you can look at the other one for reference!
I'd seriously consider reworking that linkage if you plan to get the car running.

Thanks for the replies. It runs just not so well. Major Bogging untill you feather the throttle to get the RPMS up.

I had the same issue. If I adjusted the idle speed below 1100RPM, the car would stall. First, you need to clean the carbs. It would be good to rebuild them at the same time.
