I'm a15 year old who is very intested in fiats and love fixing up cars. This looks like a fun restoration project, a big one too! Do you think it's worth that much? Is it too big and expensive of a project for me to take on? Here's some extra info from the seller "It is not somthing you could drive around or back to Detroit at this point. For one, the generator does not work. It would have to be moved on the trailer (included with the auction). I believe some of the wires were actually removed. The side glass windows were removed and are not to be found. The heater does not exist. I would check out the #3 rod end bearing before running it. I am not sure how easy the roll bar is to remove. I beleive the steering wheel is wood. "

Re: 1970 fiat race car EBAY.
hard to really call it a race car. Showroom stock is a class that allows very few mods. If you're going to put it back on the street, it will take quite a bit of work. From the sounds of it, the engine and trans both need rebuilding. If the price stays about $500, it's worth buying

Thanks for the advice. I hope it stays at that price too! I'd love having a side project to work on
Re: 1970 fiat race car EBAY.
I was just looking at the pictures on the ad and noticed the hood has the bumps that the late 70's models had. They are advertising this car as a 1970 fiat and say it's vin is 124BS0022856. Could this really be a 1970's car or do you think it's a later model??Thank you

Re: 1970 fiat race car EBAY.
I think this car is a 71 for a few reasons. First, the ad says the original engine is a 1608. They came in 71-72 cars. Second, the taillamps are the two piece, wraparound design, which was only on the 71-72 models. The one thing that 71 had that 72 did not is the engine bay lights. If you look at the engine pic, you'll see the switch in the driver's side corner of the engine bay. The hood could have been changed at any time. My 71 is sporting a later model hood.
