What kind of Fiat is it?

Post by Mark_vaughn »

I ran across a couple cars today. They look like Fiat Spiders, but probably '60s early '70s. The engine is in the back. 2 seaters drop tops, one did have a hard top as well though.
They are before big bumper years. And it looks like a really small engine if that helps.

Any ideas what it may be?

I didn't have a camera with me at the time. Sorry.

I agree with the other posts - the 850s have the engines in the back I believe.

Too bad they are trashed. Even using parts from both it would take serious money to get one working car.

are you referring to these? http://webpages.charter.net/mbouse/june ... %20016.jpg

if so, then yes. Fiat 850 is a rear engine great looking car. Underpowered, but fun to drive.

well, i'd hope they were in good shape. the blue one traveled from the east coast to mid-Missouri (where the photo was taken) to be part of FIAT FREAK OUT 2005.

By the way, FIAT FREAK OUT 2007 is coming up real soon. Are you ready?

I think I will shoot for FFO 2010. At the pace I am going I should be comfortable driving it that far then.
