Have I gone too far?

Post by danaspider »

Well the Oak man is back at work. Thought I would share a couple of projects I have worked on over the years. I love the look of oak so have now made oak armrests, oak window cranks, oak shift knob and oak emergency brake handle. The matching dash is in the works, but will be a winter project.

Interested in thoughts and comments.

Very nice work your woodworking skills are primo! But the wood look is not my cup of tea. Maybe in a luxury sedan, but not a 2-seater sports car - just my opinion... But not everyone likes my tastes either as I like the look of polished aluminum  ...it really is a personal thing I guess.

BTW you should consider making those for sale. And maybe some for other cars because your work is really pro. Someone is going to like them for sure.

While the wood work is beautifully done and it takes a lot of skill to do that kind of work, I think it's just a bit to much. Something about the window handles is what puts it over the top for me.

While the workmanship is superb, I have to agree with Nancy - the window crank is a bit over the top. Also, I think oak against black door panels would look better than with the tan.
