Anybody have a suggestion for plugs on my rebuilt engine? Approximately 10:1 domed Persan model from Vick, unmodified combustion chamber, original deck height. Street use.
On the same subject, what should I gap them at if running Crane XR3000 and Bosch coil?

The regular ole'NGKs should work just fine. I've got mine opened up to around .035 for electronic ignition.

I'm curious are you running the 8mm dome pistons from Vick?

Yes. (And I'm running N6Y plugs successfully at 0.024" with Pertronix module and Bosch blue coil)

Re: spark plugs for high compression
Are you going on what VAS said about your compression ratio? or have you measured it?
As far as i know the 8mm dome pistons in a 2L will go around 11:1 + depending on head used.

Very difficult to calculate dynamic C/R. You can search this topic here and elsewhere on the Internet.ace124 wrote:Are you going on what VAS said about your compression ratio? or have you measured it?
3,000 miles on new engine. Noticeably faster than a 2L FI in VG stock condition. About even with a well-running 2L w/IDFs. Details in the middle of the "New Head" thread in Performance tab.
Re: spark plugs for high compression
NGK B9EGV (Guy Croft recommended)
NGK BR10EIX, newer version, slightly cooler (temp) plug.
I usually use the 2nd choice because I tend to build hot motors. You can probably get away with something in the 6 heat range since you've only bumped up the compression.
There's a great discussion on Guy's site: Fiat Spark Plugs
