Carpet glue

Post by Baz »

Can anyone recommend a good carpet glue...spray on or whatever.

My carpet kit was average and tends to come away from the trans tunnel. So Ithink I will need to glue it to the areas where it sags or looks untidy.

Carpet replacement is easy and straight forward, just time consuming. Remove interior(seats, center console, kick panels, rear panels, etc.), remove old carpet, clean up floor pans (treat rust if necessary), glue in new carpet kit, re-install interior.

Instead of using glue I would recommend just putting 1/2 inch foam underneath the carpet. It helps smooth out the look and keeps the carpet in place quite nicely. It holds down when you screw the carpets back into place (cut out the same pattern). You can buy the foam from a fabrics store from joanne, etc. Then it is also easily removed, etc.
