Small bumpers on an 82

Post by pooldoctorstl »

I just bought a 1970 Spider that I am picking up Saturday, and a PO removed the bumpers and welded up the holes. One of the reasons I bought it was to get the bumpers to have them re-chromed and put them on my 82 which I took the bumpers off. I know this has been done and would like to know how they bolt on. Will they bolt right on the frame rails from the original tube bumpers or will I need to fabricate brackets? I'll also post pics when I get it.

I haven't done it, but some have used modified and compressed late bumper mounts. This company sells stainless bumpers and an install kit for late models, (so does MR FIAT, but no pics there).
