Photo Tag Game - any takers?

Post by Curly »

I've pinched this idea from another vehicle forum where it's very popular. Lets see if it works here :) .

So how it works is that I start by posting a photo of my Spider or Coupe with something else in the foreground/background... like a bridge or tunnel or gravesite or a penguin or a monument or gnome... whatever. The first person who posts a pic of their Spider or Coupe next to a similar "Photo Tag goal' wins and gets to post a second pic of their car with a new Photo Tag goal. (Photo-Shopping is cheating! It needs to be something that was really there). The person posting also needs to briefly describe what the goal is.

The goal needs to be relatively easy so others can play. For instance, if you post a pic of your car near a B52 bomber, you can ask the players to post a pic of their Spider or Coupe next to any plane, not specifically a B52 bomber... (the game will stall if you choose too specific a goal or a goal that's too difficult to find.)

For example, I might start by posting a picture of my Spider or Coupe near an aeroplane and tell you I want the next player to post a pic of their Spider or Coupe next to an aeroplane. The first person to post a pic of their Spider or Coupe next to the aeroplane wins and gets to be the one to post the next Photo-Tag goal... So after they post their first pic (Spider or Coupe with an aeroplane), they post a second pic... Spider or Coupe next to a monument (or whatever they choose).

Does that make sense? It should be fun especially since we have members all over the world!

Some rules:

1. Timing is crucial! You need to be the first person to post the "tag" in order to be able to post the next "tag" challenge! If someone else beats you to the first post, there's no need to post your photos which may confuse the players as to what the next tag goal is.... So, we don't want 50 people posting pics of their Spiders and Coupes next to planes! Only the first person to do so, gets to keep their photo up and then post the next tag goal of their choosing!

2. No photoshop or doctored photos!

3. No goals that are too specific or too difficult to follow up.

4. The Spider or Coupe in your pic needs to be yours! Not someone elses you found online!

5. Only the FIRST person who posts the "tag" can post the next challenge! Again, it will be too chaotic/confusing and no fun if everyone is posting tag challenges.

I'll start the game with an easy one:

My Spider next to a wooden building! The first player to post a pic of their Spider or Coupe next to a wooden building wins and gets to post a second picture with the next photo-tag challenge of their choosing. And then the first person to post a similar "tag" wins and so on and so on...

Let the game begin

This should be a great game to help us get through the winter, but it's not winter "down under", is it? Oh well, might as well get an early start.

Here's my car next a wooden building, along with a few friends.

The next photo-tag is a picture of your Spider with your child behind the wheel, like this.

Good luck!

Okay, here is my picture of my daughter driving the car just after I bought it.

And your challenge is a Picture of your Fiat next to a stone fence or wall.

Probably not what you had in mind  ; but I guess it fits the challenge.

It's been pretty easy so far.
Time to up the ante.
The next tag is: Your Spider on the move - any action shot showing the Spider in motion. It is not required to have the whole car in the pic, so long as the car is recognisable as a Spider.

Both my cars on the move on the way to the Paul Newman car show. Thanx to Tony. The nose of my spider, and my x in front of me.

This challenge should be easy. Your car broke down on the road. Both my spiders, 68 and 70, the 70 was broke.

Yeah - I hate it when the hood flies off as I drive down the highway!

Curly, I wish. I was driving the 70 with a friends son, and my son was driving my 68 with his girlfriend. My 70 had just been completed in time for B F I. As i got on the highway, I told my passenger watch this. I got on it, it started to move pretty good, then it just shut down. Turns out we machined to much off the crank pully to get the trigger wheel mounted. it sheared in two. It really sucked as I watched all these Italian cars pass me on thier way to the show that day.........

Any reason the driver of the replica Jaguar (I am assuming it wasn't an actual XKSS or D-type?) is wearing a ferrari hat?

It's a aluminium-bodied D-type replica based on E-type running gear - and a real work of art :D .
As for the Ferrari cap, I have no idea - except that the owner doesn't have much hair and he's probably trying to keep his head warm.

Back to the last tag - 'Spider broken down on side of road'.
I have this shot of a mate's Porsche broken down on the side of the road, with SPYDUH stopped behind to render assistance. The Porsche owner has never been able to live this down.

Image

C'mon - somebody go out and stage a breakdown then post a pic.

Ok - here ya go, though I'm not sure if this strictly qualifies.

Follow up - post a pic of your spider with a mountain in the background.
