Water pipe pics

Post by digitech »

Can anyone post a good, clear pic of the water pipe installation? This is the pipe from the rear of the water pump that lays under the exhaust manifold. I cannot for the life of me see how the supporting bracket fits to the exhaust mounting stud - I think my bracket would have to be bent like a pretzel to attach and that can't be right. Thanks!

Sorry,I don't have a pic handy, but I put a washer and nut on the stud first to mount the manifold. The pipes I've delt with seem to have a hook or open end and I can get that onto the stud and add another washer and nut to hold in place. If it is bent I'll use a long pry-bar and push the metal back into shape to it kinda sits on the stud. Yes a bit fiddly down there but it does fit with some persuasion.

And you do very well!! Thanks for the pic - I can see now mine will need to be bent quite a bit. I just want to make sure I still get a good seal at the water pump end after I bend my bracket.

Here is a clear one one with diagramatics. But I've never seen one actually installed in a Spider. Is that commonly done in CA?

Water Pipe Installation Suggestion

Post by DUCeditor »

I'm still not convinced this is a good idea, but when a forum member requests help we should all do what we can. :P

I particularly like the mods this owner made to his seats and center console.
