PS I just found out that they do provide access for a screwdriver to un do the two screws that retain the reflector in the turn signal....How thoughtful I say!

Filled them in - no idea what purpose they served.

The italians knew that us americans would take off the bumpers one day, so they left that hole there so we could use the old style bumper jacks by hooking them in the hole and lift the car right there. But were too smart to do that because the top of the jack would break the headlight.

The same guy that took a skill saw to the lower valance, thought he could add brake ducting as well. All 3 holes started at the same time. None fit with the style of the car. None are finished out, like the original grill. Just a lazy attempt at getting extra radiator airflow and brake cooling.

I emailed him and he responded quickly. I could copy and paste his response here, but I don't want to step on any toes. i figure if he wanted to advertise prices and details on a forum he would have done that himself. Seems like a decent option for those who are interested in filling those holes.

I think it would be cool to have signals there and then tiny fog lights in the round holes, or the other way.

I was just thinking about this.
Couldn't the turn signal wire run throught the bumper shock hole instead? I could get this welded up while my car is in for repairs.

maybe Fiat had ideas for the holes for the 1990 model and thought they would get us use to the holes 1st. than pulled out of the U.S market so know we will never know why them great big wholes where placed there for that little tiny wire. until than we will all just have to fill them the best way we can find........ I personally have seen them wielded closed and the way with the turn signals. and open. how ever you chose to fill them I do think they look better filled if you are bumper less.

I agree that they don't look great on the bumperless cars. I had turn signals to mount in the holes but I went a different direction. I covered mine with grill mesh to match upper and lower grills. I mounted stock signals behind the mesh and I think it turned out pretty cool.
