Yep, two spiders! I guess you forgot about the Free-iat that I picked up back in January. The black one that I drove last year should be back on the road tomorrow after a series of issues that started with a failed carb gasket, then failed head gasket, broken head bolt and so on. After getting all of that straight and settling some insurance issues, I can hopefully go driving and testing this weekend/week to make sure she is up to the trip. Jen, the girls, and I will be driving the 82 Free-iat either way but I am trying to convince my parents to drive the black one down. That way Jen and I can enjoy some adult conversation a bit more and I can take the black car on the autocross! The front suspension on the Free-iat is a bit tired and I am shooting for a winter-time rebuild and I don't want to kill it hours from home! We are so looking forward to the event, the girls haven't stopped talking about last year's rally yet and can't wait for another!

Also, for anyone coming to DFF.... I am parting out a 78 spider. The engine is taken but anything that I can fit into the spider(s) I am willing to bring with me. Please send me an email (address in my signature) or PM me.

My parents say they are in and I drove the black 80 today. I think it can use a good tune-up but hopefully I can make that happen before we leave. That puts us bringing two spiders! I can't wait!

It looks like the car count is in for the Dixie Fiatfest:

124 Spiders 8
X19 7
other cars 3

It looks like a great showing of X19's! I'll see you guys this weekend!

I have let down the entire Spider community, and I apologize. Here I sit at Fiatfest and my Spider is at home in the garage. My wife really wanted to show off her X,but really didnt want to drive 4 hours. So, in a show spousal support possibly unmatched in history,I took the Spider off the trailer, and loaded the X.I am ashamed, and sit here in my room while Denise and Rose rip around in the X.
ps...dont ask why 'she' couldnt drive my truck and trailer, and I could drive my car

Now that is devotion. My wife and my daughter are going to be rather disappointed though, they love your spider and were looking forward to seeing it again. Although, my other daughter is going to be ecstatic that you brought another X so I guess it almost evens out.

We are headed out early tomorrow morning and plan on being there in time for the driver's meeting!

BTW Craig, what kind of "installation fluid" do you prefer?

Denise,
Thanks for putting on such a great event! My son and I had a really good time driving the rally on Saturday, and driving the LEMONS racer around the autocross course was a BLAST!!! Hope to have one of my Spiders ready to run the autocross next year.

Also great to meet all you fellow Fiat enthusiasts who made it to the event.

Stan, it was awesome you could join us! Ron said you had a big grin on your face when you squeezed your way out of the Lemons car. Amber wore the right front tire to the steel running that car over 100 laps after everyone left.
Can't wait for next year!!!
