Way too much fun!

I drove my Spider to a local auto mall dealership to look at a used car for my daughter. It was sooooo much fun watching the sales people oggle the Spider. I got so many compliments, got asked it I was going to trade it in, got asked if I want to sell it and for how much (I think he was serious, but you can never tell with sales people), and found out that the internet sales manager is a former Spider owner (he had a rust bucket). Sure, they are salespeople, but I got many, many unsolicited "nice cars" and "she looks amazing"s that it made my day. That, coupled with the fact it was about 85 degrees, sunny, low humidity and I just adjusted the carb and she's running fantastic!!!

On top of that, we got a great deal on my daughter's car. It was a loss leader (the car they advertise in the paper to get people into the showroom then bait and switch them to a more expensive car). Retail KBB was $5,258. Private party value was $3,885. Trade in was $2,475. We paid $2,977 for a 2000 Ford Escort ZX2 with 84K miles. Asking price was $5988. Clear CarFax, one owner car.

Way too much fun!
