Save the date for Dyno Day, Aug 14th. I'll be posting details in the near future. Besides telling me you want to participate, pre-payment will be required to secure a spot

I may be interested, only catch is that's the annual Monterey car weekend (Historic races at Laguna Seca, Pebble Beach Concours, Concorso Italiano, etc). You may be limiting attendance on that weekend due to the other festivities.

Sorry to intrude on this thread, but I was thinking I have seen a few threads with people sharing their setups and dyno numbers but I don't know if I could find them again easily. I thought it would be great if there was a new category or a folder under performance for just set-ups and the corresponding dyno run sheets all in one place. It would also be a great way to prove performance improvement for various products as well (I think of all the sport compact kids who actually decrease low-end torque and hp for possible high-end performance gain and noise with wild intakes).

It would be great to see what Mark's dyno day results look like with different cars as well. This would be very helpful for those of us who don't have unlimited budgets for modifications to judge where and how much to spend to get certain levels of performance. Also it would be good to see what mods affect torque over hp and vice versa. As the BMW salesmen told me, "people shop horsepower but buy torque".

oh ffs, didn't tear my car apart yet. My transmission is questionable... non op'd my car. but seriously I think it is a shifter fork/linkage problem.

I'm in.

I'll wait for the drive line tear down till after.

oh, and for the nannies... The car is quite drivable, don't worry... it just isn't perfect. I non op'd it because I didn't want it to get worse, and I have almost no free time right now with which to fix it.

side note: Mark, my buddy Rob with his clean white 75, that he recently bought uber cheap, and had you tune for him is also in. Even though he doesn't know it yet

okay gang-here are the details on this event;
Saturday, Aug 14th, 830am til ? (all cars will get runs, so it depends on the turnout). First come, first served. When you arrive you will sign in and cars will be tested in that order. It's suggested that if you want to make changes, get there early so you can get a baseline run, make changes and get on the list for the retest. If you don't intend to make changes, you'll get 3-4 pulls on the dyno. Each car will get a full print out after the test. The dyno is a Dynojet, considered the most accurate dyno on the market, so expect accurate results.

Bring any tools you will need and of course any parts you intend to swap out.
Make sure your car is prepped, including checking the air pressure in your tires

Cost is $50 per car. Payment can be cash or cc. CC payments will incur a 3% surcharge

The shop is Rage Performance in Upland. I'll be posting address in the near future. Please respond if you intend to attend so we can get an estimate of number of cars.

You can hang out all day to watch tests in you desire, or leave when you session is done. Our plan is to have a bbq and some drinks there for those that want to hang out. We could use some help with those arrangements, so feel free to volunteer if you can

Here is the website/address info for the dyno shop. I do need a fairly accurate head count to give them so please respond if you're planning to bring a car next Saturday.

I'm sorry to say that I can't make it, for several reasons. My sincere thanks to Mark for setting up the event. I really need to have my car on a dyno to help me optimize the tuning, and this was the perfect opportunity. This time, I let family priorities take precedence, and I don't regret that, but I sure do wish I could have made it to this event. Wishing good things accomplished for all the participants!

Hello Mark, is the Dyno test taking place today August 14? is there a space available although is a last minute?

So Cal Mark wrote:Is anyone interested in a Dyno Saturday in So Cal? I've got a deal set up with a company in Upland that will work a group day for us. Minimum of 10 cars, $50 each for 3 pulls which is about a half hour with setup. You'll get a graph showing hp, torque and a/f ratio. They will also offer a discount on any tuning services for those that want to stay and work out issues with their car. Payment of the $50 would be due in advance to reserve a spot of course since we have to guarantee 10 cars.
We can bbq there and make a day of it. Side bets will be up to the individuals
