michigan Short Shifter
Re: michigan Short Shifter
I wanted to purchase the Shifter kit as well but have an ideal for doing my install , if i bent the shaft from the
Fiat back closer to me how would i without breaking it ? of course i would remove it from the housing on
the extension then place in a vise should i heat it up or not ? does anyone have an ideal what would be
the safest way ??
Can someone post up some before and after photos of the Michigan Short Shifter plzzzzzzz ?

Re: michigan Short Shifter
that shift lever has a phenolic ball on the lower half of the assembly. would that withstand the heat required to bend that lever?
i guess you could try, replacement shift levers are available new and used.
here is a comparison of the Michigan SHORTER SHIFTER compared to the stock unit.

Guys,(and gals) I can tell you from personal experience the Short Shifter will be the BEST buy for your car! The improvement in shift quality is amazing! What a feeling,so crisp, and precise, just a great unit, and easy to install. Took me 15 min. tops, and I'm not that handy.

old post i know...
new to my 124 though and recently purchased the kit. sweet and easy install for sure. also, taking it all apart was important as I noticed the little reverse limiter pin had lost its lock nut and was able to fix that prior to reassembly. Now, the ghosts of difficult 5th gear shifts will be gone too.
Feels great - no more trucker shifter. With my abarth wheel, the ergos feel so much better than stock. Now, just have to find a round white shift knob!
Nice piece, highly recommend it.
