cold start valve

Post by spiderdave »

I was wondering if any of you know the differance between a COLD START VALVE and a COLD START INJECTOR on a 1980 spyder 2000. They look about the same and the part numbers seem to be intertwined. The only differance that I can visually see is the way that the fuel line hooks in. I am asking because the one in my car is not the one the part company sent me. Can I modify this to work or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Do not know the diff, suspect they are same item, just diff name. I do know one thing, I WOULD NOT modify, I would get the piece that fits correctly.

they are the same thing, Bosch has quit making injectors for the Fiat, so your supplier may have substituted a part that isn't the same as oem

So is this a yea or nea on hooking up the fuel line to this and firing up the car. I got this from rock auto and I don't want to lose the $200.00 including shipping if it won't work.

So I bit the bullet and went a head and added in a banjo bolt to the end of the cold start valve and plugged it into my fuel line. Results? It starts up and runs fine. Thankyou for your help.
