You mean a painted one? That's about as permanent as they get. You can get a roll of pinstripe for around $10 at the local automotive paint store. Make sure the surface you are applying the pinstripe is clean of any wax or polish and it should stick for years. Mine was meant for one local car show and added as a temporary pinstripe on top of a waxed surface and it lasted several years.

Yeah I have one of those on my car currently, the clear part is starting to come up and you can see it too all along the stripe. Doesn't look bad from about 1 ft away but any closer and its obviously a cheap sticker hehe

Wow this looks just like my '77 resto job! What color RED is that?

Also what to do with the original rings...... my caps are great but my rings trashy.... can they be really polished out...? What did yu do to get them clean and bright? Thanx, Jeff

I thought I did, but there seems to be another clear part on top, that keeps the distance between the two stripes the same. I don't think its removable, it doesn't seem to come apart of the other two stripes. Perhaps I'll check again though when I wash the car today.

EDIT:

You were right, it does come off. We had to cut the front of it to make a point, so it didn't seem like the clear part was separate from the rest because of that. But after some convincing and delicate repositioning, I got all the clear off, and it looks 1000x times better. Thanks! I feel kinda stupid for not thinking of that on my own!

I bought the beauty rings and never had to do anything to them. That set of wheels is on various cars around the house. I need to take them off and maybe sell the rings.

Glad to hear your stripes are looking better! Ron restriped my car a couple weeks ago after I pulled the "temporary" stripes of 10 years off. The car looked naked without them.

Yeah I agree, the picture of the car in my sig looks really off without them. I think they help accentuate the lines along the sides of the car which really does pull it together real nicely.
