New Pictures, Let's try again

Post by Zippy »

Okay I moved all the pictures to my new site. Go here if you want to see my pictures. :D

http://www.cruzin.us/fiatpics.html 8)

I was taking pictures of my daughters dog the other day and since I had the camera in my hand I decided to pull the Fiat out and take some new pictures. When I opened them on my computer I was blown away by how amazing these cars look. The lines and forms are so beautiful it's no wonder some of us fall in love with these cars. I may not be the worlds best photographer but these cars are very photogenic. If you want to see them they are on my website.

There are no ads on this page and no link to my home page so you won't be assaulted by random advertising.

Have a safe and sunny summer. Enjoy the ride.

Thanks! The manifold has a ceramic coating. It was like that when I got the car so I don't know any of the particulars.

Good lookin Spidy....mine is just finished save a couple of items I need to finish. I coated my exhaust manifold with ceramic inside and out, and it was the best thing i ever did. Temperature never goes anywhere near where it used to and the car seems to run much better, I did not notice any performance increase, but driving the car in some of the hot weather we have here is no longer a worry...sitting at lights etc. GREAT !!!!! I converted mine from Auto to 5 speed and it is a different car to drive...much more fun. Car runs great, no rattles, can't wait till Autumn..summer.

Went for our first trip last sunday..arrived , parked, locked the car and went for a coffee. Got back to the car...very proud, with onlookers etc, but I could not unlock the car. Key would not seem to turn far enough to activate the unlock, AAAArgh !!

Used some of my teenage skills to gain entry....

Baz - There is a Concorsa d' Eleganza on the 1st of August in Sydney, Fiats, Lancia's and Alfa's. You should bring the car down to Sydney.

Hi Adrians,

'One of these days Morton' !!

I have much trouble in getting away from my business, even to local club events these days....We have had staff issues and I have just been through the Prostate Cancer circus, so life is just a bowl of All Bran at the moment. My day will come. Do the review the meet anywhere I could access ??

Cars looking good Al. I finally cut up the car just last winter and have the body parts I needed in the shed. They are waiting to go to a good cause to repair my car. I didn't realize just how bad mine was until I removed a band of bondo 1 1/2" thick by a foot wide over the rear arches on both sides of the car. I think they were trying to keep bondo from going under . Nothing a little cutting and welding won't fix.

Hey Brad, Great to hear from you. Yep the car still looks pretty good. I am starting to make a list of little things that I need to find time to do, like A arm bushings, rear seat upholstery, fix the rust that is starting to form on the steering wheel where the protective coating has worn off...and so it goes.

Were you able to salvage/sell the bumpers? I know the car was cut up pretty bad when you got it. Were you able to save anything else? How about your car, any pictures/progress?

With the weather here being so nice lately I have been driving mine alot. I almost got hit today by a guy turning into the gas station I was in. He was looking up the road and coming straight at me. I yelled at him as I was trying to get my hand to the horn button and he swerved at the last second and just missed me.

Take care.

Well I got the doors, motor, tranny, running gear, wiring harness, front window and the body parts to repair my car. I really didn't scrap all that much when it was loaded into my truck.
I'm not to sure if I'm fixing my car or getting another shell. I've been checking out the body more and have found out the frame is twisted along with the rearend damage.
I have a line on another 76 body that looks to be in good shape. I figure since I'm going to have to remove everything to make this car right. I'll probably save myself a couple hundred to a thousand dollars just by swapping.
I will probably take the new body down to metal and epoxy the whole body after I fix any hidden rust if found.
Then paint it what my daughter calls M&M orange.
I have a few ideas for a tubular cross member and control arms that I'm going to be working on this winter.
Trying to get the camber adjustments out to the lower balljoint and not connected to the crossmember.
Well off to work on the rabbit I'll see if I can get a few photos of that and what the damage to the rear of the spider looks like.

Wow, you got all that off that old 74? That's great to know so mauch was saved. Sounds like you are taking a long term approach to building your Spider. I'm afraid if I took on another project it would never get done. I like the idea of the orange. I have seen several cars sort of that color and it always catches my eye.

Good luck with your project.

Just curious, are there any clearance issues with the 205/60-13 tires on the inside (handbrake cables, suspension components)?
