Mythbusters plan the demise of a poor X1/9

Post by 4babycar »

Just started watching Mythbusters episode "Vodka Myths" and one of the myths of the night is based on the ability of two semi's to collide head on with a "European" compact car in the middle to see if it can be pancaked to such a point that you would not notice a car was even between the two semis at the end. A fan of the show volunteered his X1/9 with, by the host's account has a perfect interior, but with a blown engine to be crushed! Poor X1/9, it really didn't look too bad and certainly not deserving of this end. I guess I will have to keep watching to see how it fairs in such an accident, since my youngest daughter still wants one!

this is an old one. hate to ruin it for you, but the end result is a surprisingly uncrunched Fiat that is worthy of some safety accolades.

It was one I hadn't seen before and the ending was certainly anti-climatic. Still sad to see it happen to a Fiat.

I enjoyed watching that episode partly because they couldn't squash the Fiat like they thought they could.
