Bumperless light idea

I took the front bumper off my 76 and bought two maker lights at NAPA to mount in the grill . I have a set of fake HID lights I 'm thinking about putting in the rectangular holes as I am doing VW T bars in the bumper holes. The HID are round and i plan to use them as running lights because the marker lights won't do double duty as TS and park lights. The HID are blueish when on . I am going to run the HID on a separate circuit and use a switch. How does this sound and has anyone done this?
