This is not about a spider, but not sure where else to post it. Does anyone know this car? The ad says it is a rebuilt 1.6L, but it has an air pump, and he says it has a 4BBL carb, but it shows IDFs in the photo. IDFs with a smog pump? I might be interested in the car, as I have been thinking about putting a TC in 124 sedan in place of the OHV 1400 in there now (original)

with the air pump on the exhaust cam, it would be a 75-76 1800. I suppose he's accurate calling twin 40s a 4bbl manifold. Hal lives in Pasadena, perhaps he'll go check the car out for you

74 124tc sedan came with a 1592 smog version. the idf manifold is an addition, well worth having!. unfortunatly i junked hundreds of these cars over the years, at the time they had little or no value

I really don't understand how you get any benefit from IDFs on a smog pump motor. Really do appreciate the offer to have a look at the car, but I hate to ask anyone to take the time to do that. I am really only interested in the motor and tranny details, but there might be some minor interior/body trim pieces I can use or get for spares.
Here is a photo of the '73. It has not been modified and has the original, never-been-opened 1.4L OHV motor and 4 speed tranny in it. The original owner put a larger carb on it, and "restoration" only involved a re-spray to the factory color and a new carpet. Even the Pianola AM/FM radio works! Oh, I also put a NARDI steering wheel on it. We are the second registered owners. Runs like a top, uses zero oil, and is as tight as can be - it just needs a few more ponies.
